The aim of this programme is to develop a range of creative skills, as well as the knowledge and understanding required for students to be able to undertake a professional role within the industry. Equal emphasis is given to traditional and computer-based practice to prepare students for a range of career opportunities in the design industry. Students develop abilities in research analysis, evaluation, critical appraisal and the creative synthesis of data and ideas. Course content includes: Computer Illustration/Image Manipulation; Design Communication; Branding; Photography; Typography; Design for Print; Digital Media; Internet Applications; Graphic Design; Visual Communications; Final Major Project.

Entry Requirements
An art foundation course or Advanced GNVQ/ACVE or equivalent, plus a suitable portfolio of relevant work. Mature applicants are welcomed and should have relevant experience with a suitable portfolio of creative work, an ability to draw, and an enthusiasm for the subject.
