Course info
This course will provide students with an introduction to sport and leisure. It is designed to encourage to develop the personal skills and qualities needed for work, learning and to help students to achieve with full potential. Students will learn about working in the sport and leisure industry along with learning about health related issues and lifestyle programmes. It includes working in sport and leisure, the healthy body, personal effectiveness, financial management, organising a sport or leisure event, taking part in sport and key skills. Students wishing to progress onto the higher level courses will need to demonstrate significant academic progress throughout the year.

How much will it cost?
Free for age sixteen to eighteen; £950 for year 1 for age nineteen plus and £750 for year 2 courses which started in 2007; £70 for additional costs

Assessment method
Students will be assessed through written assignments and an externally set project assessment.

Entry Requirements
Students should have two GCSE grade E - G. Students must have a strong interest in sport and participate on a regular basis.
